Love is in the air in the metroplex. Does your life experiences influence your paintings? Mine do and this summer I've heard a lot of boyfriend, romance, wedding and shower talk and visited some bridal stores, bought some silvery paper and ribbons and searched my closet for appropriate clothes for these occasions.
My 1954 graduating class met Friday night in De Leon and the talk still turns to old loves and graduation dates and it seems we never stop picking those daisy petals and wondering "He Loves me, He Loves Me Not."
This painting will be in the 2010 Fine Art in Dallas Engagement Book, a comprehensive book of local artists' work and the book will go to homes, art galleries, realtors and there will be scheduled exhibitions and artist events during the year. The City Art Calendar will be available in the fall and I will keep you posted.

Just love this style of figure work you create. Wonderful idea to have a roaming book of local artists work. Amazing still meeting old school pals.
Hi, Joan There were about 40 in my graduating class and we were very close so after our 50th we decided we'd get together as often as possible and this is during our annual "Peach and Watermelon Festival" each August. So much fun to see "old" classmates.
You may remember that I also graduated in '54, but from Calvert High. That's great that y'all were able to get together! Interesting idea about romance, etc. Our summer seems to be death, funerals, hospitals, and doctors. Of course, that also influences our art work and writing.
Love how your work is evolving!
Hi, Cecelia, I remember and I love reunions. Glad you like how the work is changing.
