Green Bay Packer ~ Torn Paper Collage Painting ~ Super Bowl ~ by Texas Contemporary Painter Nancy Standlee

I've varnished and put the wire on this large (for me) torn paper collage painting of Aaron Rodgers for the sports art show opening next Wednesday. Super Bowl fever is heating up around Arlington TX. Yes, I looked through some of my food magazines and found some cheese to collage on the painting but I don't know if it's Wisconsin Cheddar or not. When I was at the Derek Gores workshop in Florida in December I watched a Vince Lombardi movie on TV in the motel in the evening and it has led to wanting to collage a sports figure and I liked the colors in the Green Bay Packers and I've done my share of research this week to add special touches to the collage such as Aaron's birthday.

Some of the information for the art show has changed since my last blog post. Here is the update:

Artist Reception will be Feb 3 at 7:00 and a Gallery Walk at 7:30

Canvas by Canvas will be in the art show and will exhibit some of their recent Cowboy Stadium paintings. So please come out and visit with the artists sometime during the 3 day event. We will be there for the Gallery Walk for sure.
