"Fluctuation"
7 3/4" x 15" Contemporary Textured Mixed Media Abstract
MDF board, copper, metallic colors, Tyvek paper collage
I love to explore collage, mixed media and texture. While researching online this week, I found a YouTube video introducing an online class, "Texture Town" with Julie Prichard and Chris Cozen and signed up. The class has just started and if you'd like to join me the first two classes have been more introductory classes and we really haven't started applying the texture yet. The piece above, "Fluctuation", is one completed over the summer and has some copper and metallic paint in it. In this workshop, Julie and Cris will be using a limited nature palette.

Your texture pieces on your blog here are really great, Nancy! I can't wait to see how you meld your style with the Texture Town course. :)
Thanks, Julie. Maybe tomorrow I'll find some time to start Lesson 3. I'm looking forward to the class as I thought your demo examples on your video intro were so interesting.
Thanks for posting about Texture Town, I signed up for it. I had planned to take a Lynne Perrella class this month but I loved the Texture Town samples and it's hard to beat a class that you can take in your jammies over and over... as opposed to driving 5 hours to Cleveland and staying in hotels, etc... esp since my dad's health is failing and life is so uncertain right now. Many thanks!
"loves wine".. that makes the blog post worthwhile if you signed up. We're having a lot of fun on our very first painting and add me as a friend when you get there. Thanks for the visit.
