Art Journal Pages:
I'm still on the "stuff organization", trying to get on friendly terms with my computer, and painted my Joe T's square for a CBC project. Other CBC members there were Betty, Cindy Y and Maryann. The workshop was for 3 days and we did a floral first and then the portrait. I drew off the beach scene but didn't get around to painting it as Janet kept us jumping. We had to laugh at her because she moved so much it was really difficult to get a good photo of her unless we just said "Stop. We need a photo." She was an excellent instructor and walked the room answering questions when it came time for us to paint - always an endearing quality in an instructor.
Here is a slide show of some images taken during the 3 day workshop. Janet knows her medium and can explain it now for practice, and more practice.

Regardless of what you think of the color, you got a wonderful likeness with movement and real character. I'm always happy to see your sketchbook pages and it's great fun to see the photos of paintings and people from the workshop - Thanks!
I really enjoy your blog and your paintings. I have a Janet Rogers video and love her style of watercolor painting.
Had to stop...this is so cool... Love your colours... amazing!!
Great portrait of your own, and loved seeing your take on Janet in your sketchbook, too! You should really send her a copy of that one. I have taken 2 workshops with Janet and she is wonderful - a good teacher and has a great style I'd love to get closer to in my own work. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, Suzanne, Thanks for stopping by and for the comments.
Peggy, Janet has two dvd's and I put a link for a preview on a post 10/06. We need to all go to Lake Como in '09. Dream on...
Sylvia, Hello and I tried to use Janet's palette and use some new colors for me.
RHC..I did send Janet an email with the image and I had to put a roll of paper towels under her arm. I agree with you on style and trying to achieve that look. I would like to take another one but 5 days...what about Italy?
I had a great time meeting you and your friends, sharing lunch, and seeing everyone's art. You seem to have done well with your lessons learned at the workshop. I am still not as loose as Janet, but her workshop was a great inspiration. I noticed that Steve Rogers has a workshop in the Dallas area next year in Sept. Hmm, maybe we will meet again.
BB.. nice to have met you and what a great place to have lunch. They may use some of the pics on their art farm site. I've taken from Steve once and would enjoy a repeat from either. I haven't been able to practice like I'd hoped after the workshop. Hope to take another one with you.
