I've been in a Wassily Kandinsky Circle mode and have ordered several of his books in the last weeks. Here is a close up of the above textured painting using Liquitex modeling paste for the flower shapes.
Here is one of the Kandinsky paintings I've looked at for inspiration. He was a Russian born expressionist and is one of the pioneers of abstract art. To read about him and other artists go to The Art Story. Click HERE.
He felt like the circle was the most peaceful shape and it represented the human soul.
I'm a big fan of all kinds of stamps to use in making collage paper and found this one below that helped inspire the above painting also. The title of the stamp is Ranunculus Field and I wanted to use that in my title but who could say it or remember it. I researched the genus and came up with Buttercup. I like that name but then that gives a yellow significance and I wanted to use all colors so gave up and chose Sweet Summer Roses. And since I've already done some Polka Dot Roses like this one, it would fit in.

Interesting, informative post, Nancy. Thanks.
Thanks Connie. I've just HAD to do a tall skinny canvas this morning with the paste and it's drying now.
