"Nothing But Blue Skies"
24x30x1.5" acrylic on canvas
Bob, Robert Burridge workshop, encouraged us to think about a body of work the week of the workshop at Dena's. I mentioned in another blog post about my theme of "Toward the Sun" and this was a very hot, Texas week with lots of blue skies and sun shiney days. This is a large piece, mixed media acrylic on canvas, with a texture medium, charcoal, and pencil and I refer to the style as a "figurative abstract". Figures always appear somewhere in my abstracts so I've just quit fighting that fact and will only enhance them when then appear.
Dena and Bob
Bob says "Dena, watch your hand!"
This was Dena's birthday of celebration and she was given surprise gifts all through the day with the announcement of a ringing cowbell.
Dena and Nancy
Dena and Ryan DeSiato
Let this party begin with Ryan DeSiato, an Austin singer, songwriter, and guitarist who wowed the crowd with his songs.
There are so many good memories from these past weeks so in this post I'll just post a slide show then get back to the windy, wordy posts later. It was a pleasure and privilege painting with a room full of dedicated passionate artists. It is an honor to be associated with all of you.
