Each week someone issues a painting challenge at DPW and anyone can participate and it is a learning experience to see how other painters tackle the subject. I really like the Fauve look so I toned the canvas with an acrylic orange and let some of these complements peek through. 

Are you always wondering about the correct spelling of GREY, GRAY? I found a simple explanation and an easy way to remember and I want to share it with you.

grAy ~ the American way to spell it "A"

Carol Marine talks about the importance of GRAY's in her Art Byte tutorial Saturation and Color Mixing. This is an excellent tutorial and I've watched it several times and have done some of the color chart exercises and I've found them to be very helpful in my stage of oil painting (early).
