Since I have a Green Bay Packer torn paper collage for the show, I had to collage a painting about the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you click on the image you will see a Cowboys Stadium image at the top of the helmet. Other messages are hidden in the design. For the last three posts on this blog I've shown torn paper collage paintings I've done for this sports related art show that will be held across Collins Street from the Cowboys Stadium.
Some of the information for the art show has changed since my last blog post. Here is the update:

Canvas by Canvas will be in the art show and will exhibit some of their recent Cowboy Stadium paintings. So please come out and visit with the artists sometime during the 3 day event. We will be there for the Gallery Walk for sure on Thursday evening. Dennis Hevia is our Canvas by Canvas photographer and he will be at the Art Bowl. Check out his website HERE.
WFAA has a good link for Super Bowl events. Click HERE.
Just a little bit of driving advice... if you're listening to TV and go to Dallas for the Super Bowl game February 6, you will miss it by about 20 miles. Whatever, the announcers are saying it is in Arlington, TX. I don't understand why they keep saying Dallas?

"Cut a Dido"
Some of the Canvas by Canvas peeps went to a Peter Max gallery opening yesterday in Dallas at the Wisby-Smith Fine Art Gallery. I was particularly interested in his football helmets and we saw Peter and some of his outstanding colorful art. There were 5 of us in the car and on the way home I casually mentioned "cutting didoes". Well, you would have thought I was speaking a foreign language. No one had any idea of what I meant or had ever heard the term before. But if you do a Google search before I tell you, be very cautious because of a very similar term so watch where you click. In the 40's and 50's in my small hometown of De Leon, TX. the family cars didn't go very fast so to "do exploits" the boys could make a fast U turn, squeal the tires, throw some gravel and then you're hear.."boy, he can really cut the didoes in his Dad's old car" or "did you know the cops stopped him for cutting didoes down by the train tracks?" Now after some iPhone searches on the way home by some unbelieving Canvas by Canvas members (New York and Canada, even our Florida member and the young Texas one) they found this site and now I find I'm speaking like they did in the 1800's.. Oh, my... Check HERE for the definition and HERE for another article about 1800's speech. Oh, just enjoy our art show and the Super Bowl events, in person or on TV.
