Hand Painted and Torn Paper Portrait Collage Painting
20x16 on gallery wrapped canvas
This piece was fun to do as I had a beautiful photo to work from and I added some personalized touches with computer text such as her nickname, Grumpy, her birthday, her horse's name and her favorite song.
This is the wonderful photo I had to work from:
I have written an ArtByte about the process of torn paper collage for the Daily Paintworks site
and it is being edited at the moment and will be available soon with more than 50 images. An
ArtByte is a small online tutorial that may be free or it's very
affordable. Mine will be very affordable. Here is the web address and browse and download some of the free ones by Carol Marine or another favorite artist such as Julie Ford Oliver
that will explain some of the tools she uses in an oil painting
technique. There are several very good free ArtBytes that are filled
with information. When you get to the Daily Paintworks web page, look
under tutorials. Here is my online gallery at Daily Paintworks.
I've decided to open a shop at Etsy as I will be adding some small watercolors soon. The shop has limited paintings right now but I will load more as I have time. http://www.etsy.com/shop/NancyPaintings

Wow, I am totally fascinated with this, I'd love to get up close and explore it in person! I love that it says "Grumpy" down the front of the horse's nose, being the owner of a generally grumpy horse myself :)
Gorgeous work, I will definitely be checking out that ArtByte.
Deanna that is so funny as the girl's nickname is Grumpy and her horse's name is Trinket.
